Kass Richards will release her debut solo album, The Language Shadow, on December 4 on Good Cry Records. Limited vinyl run including original artwork by Allyson Mellberg Taylor. Lead single “Atlantis” is out today, with an original video by Sara Ludy.
The Language Shadow was recorded over two sessions at Montreal’s Hotel2Tango studio, engineered by Shae Brossard and co-produced by Basia Bulat and Richards. Richards’ vocals and nylon string guitar were tracked live, with Basia Bulat, Geordie Gordon (U.S. Girls), and Tim Kingsbury (Arcade Fire) joining in after, improvising the subtly refined arrangements further. Cellist Zou Zou Robidoux appears on cover of Jennifer Castle’s “Nature.”
